Stamford Registry Office Wedding – Vicki and Paul’s Winter Wedding
Winter was just starting to bite the week before Vicki and Paul’s recent wedding at Stamford Registry Office, Lincolnshire. Slate grey skies and wet and windy days had us making rainy day contingency plans, but thankfully, on the day itself, these weren’t needed. We even saw a little sun as the couple and their guests gathered in the garden of the registry office to celebrate with family and friends.
It was lovely to photograph Vicki’s mum walking her up the aisle – her pride was clear to see – and the ceremony itself went perfectly. It obvious how much the occasion clearly meant to Vicki and Paul – their smiles in the pictures should tell a better story than my words ever could.
After a quick portrait shoot using Stamford’s beautiful streets as a backdrop, we headed off to Fotheringhay Village Hall for the wedding reception. Here the couple and their guests tucked into a lamb roast and drinks and although it was dark when I left, there was clearly plenty of life left in the party.
I’d just like to add that one of my favourite memories of the day was watching and photographing Vicki’s Nan. She had so much life about her and was clearly relishing spending time with her family and being a part of Vicki’s special day. Most of all though, I was impressed by the fun she clearly had with her great grand children. I really enjoyed trying to capture this and found myself thinking back to memories of my own Nan. These relationships are so precious and it’s one of the joys of wedding photography that you often get to witness the best side of family life. I’m now hoping my images have captured some of her vitality and the lovely bond she has with the youngest members of her family.
All that remains is to say a big thank you to Vicki and Paul for giving me the opportunity to photograph their big day. Good luck for the future and hope you have a long and happy marriage!
