Laura and Jimmy’s lovely Leicestershire wedding
St Peter’s Centre, Loughborough
I t’s been a busy start to 2014 so it’s been a while since I’ve blogged a wedding. Laura and Jimmy’s lovely wedding took place in the St Peters Centre, a newly refurbished wedding venue in Leicestershire. With Jimmy looking ultra-stylish in his traditional Indian wedding garb and Laura looking stunning, first in an elegant traditional wedding dress and later in a vibrant sari, the whole day was something of a visual treat.
The couple are friends of Gwen and John whose Loughborough wedding photography I blogged in 2012 – you can see the images from their stunning wedding by clicking here. They are all members of a church in Loughborough and had been heavily involved in the refurbishment of the St Peter’s Centre, so it was fitting that this was the first wedding at the reopened church.
The day itself was something of a cultural and sartorial melting pot, with the traditional sharp suits, colourful hats and big-day dresses, augmented by Scottish kilts from Laura’s family and beautiful Indian sari’s on Jimmy’s side. It was a joy to photograph – the ceremony given a special edge due to Laura and Jimmy’s close ties with the church, the reception a tea party that added a quintescential sense of Englishness to the occasion and the evening a Scottish Ceilidh, complete with some fine performances by both the band and guests on the dance floor .
I’d like to congratulate Laura on Jimmy on their fantastic day and wish them the very best of luck for the future.
