Hi, I’m Andrew and I’m an experienced documentary wedding photographer – I’d love to tell your wedding story...

Hi, I’m Andrew Brackenbury and I’m a documentary wedding photographer based on the border of Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire and Rutland. I’ve been a professional photographer for more than a decade and I have a genuine passion for telling stories though natural and timeless reportage wedding photography.

At the heart of my approach is the thought that your day should be all about you, not the photography, so I aim to have as as little impact on your day as possible. Please feel free to explore my portfolio and learn more about my approach. If you like what you see, I’d love to hear from you!

My aim is to tell your wedding story through photography, creating beautiful, natural images with an eye for fleeting moments of warmth, emotion and fun.
I believe a wedding photographer should have as little impact on your day as possible. It’s a wedding, not a photoshoot! I’ll do what I can to blend in with your guests – I always wear a suit, use small, unintimidating and very quiet cameras, won’t use flash in the ceremony and you certainly won’t find me running up the aisle in a paparazzi style!
My photography will be true to your wedding. I’m not looking to recreate standard, clichéd shots seen in magazines and blogs, I’ll tell the real story of your wedding, albeit in a beautiful and timeless way.
You won’t find me posing you or asking ‘could you do that again’. My focus is to capture the beautful reality at the heart of your day, so it’s natural moments that I’m always looking for. While most of my weddings do include a few groups and a small portait session, I keep this simple, aiming to capture a natural, relaxed image of you on the best day of your lives.
It’s a cliché but for me it is true – wedding photography is more than a job, it’s a vocation and a passion, and I feel incredibly fortunate that in weddings I found the perfect place to explore my love of story-telling and the documentary-style.
I like people! This may sound simplistic, but it’s one of the main reasons that I love this job. While my style is low key, I’m more than happy to mingle with your guests and when a little direction is required, such as during the group photography, I’ll jolly people along and get the job done with as little stress as possible.
I’ve been a pro for more than a decade and photography is my only source of income, so getting it right each and every time is essential to me. I’m very used to working under pressure and adapting to different light and weather conditions and on the day itself I’ll smile a lot, keeping my demeanor calm and professional throughout.
My photographic style isn’t dictated by trends. I’m strongly influenced by the great street and documentary photographers from the days of film, and while it would be presumptuous to claim to be working at their level, at each wedding my aim is to create timeless images that have a classic film-like feel.
Andrew! We are so so happy with our pictures and so happy to have met you. Everything was perfect, your kind and easy going approach was exactly what we wanted and hoped for, the fun and vibe of our day is reflected in our pictures. We loved every second of it and you captured the whole thing in the perfect way. I have already recommended you to a friend and hope to have another event that we could have you at! Thank you for everything.

Andrew, your photos are simply stunning; we are absolutely thrilled! And this was no surprise given how thorough you were in your preparations and how hard you worked on the day itself. We are so glad you were our photographer. Our day was very emotional and we cannot believe just how brilliantly you’ve captured this. Your work is so insightful, it’s as if you’ve known us for years! We’ve re-lived ALL the emotion of the day just looking at your pictures. It’s such a special thing you’ve given us – we really, really cannot thank you enough.

Working With Me

  • Pre-wedding

Before your wedding, I’ll always be available if you have any questions about finalising timings or any other aspects of the day. If there are more formal groups to be taken, I’ll help you plan to make this as efficient and pain free as possible. As the wedding gets closer, I’ll arrange a more detailed chat where we could talk through your wedding, step by step…
  • The big day

On the day itself I’ll do all I can to blend in with your guests, leaving you uninhibited and able to relish each and every moment. During the ceremony, I’m mindful of the need to be unobtrusive; I always wear a suit, I smile a lot and I’m happy to mingle with guests when appropriate. I’m often told the couple barely noticed I was there…
  • After

Most of the work on your photos happens after the day itself. I’m rigorous about quality – every image in your final edit will have been worked on individually with aspects such as colour balance, skin tones, exposure and contrast all fine tuned…
